Random Shots, Random Picks

Posted by: pamela15s on: June 28, 2009

I’d like to share this shot that I took a few months ago while practicing landscape shots at our city’s Kawa-Kawa Boulevard. Somehow seeing that boat house depresses me. These people are small-time fishermen (I think) and the fishing boats are at the same time their homes. Taken at sunset, this boat is sailing out to sea to earn a living.

About a week ago, Digital Photography School’s (DPS) assigment was about sweets and I was elated to finally being able to enter because I got the shot ready. The weekly assignment, by the way, is a mini-contest and the winning photo is posted on the DPS site about a week or so. I promised myself that I’d enter my photo, although not actually expecting to win. Just the thought of entering makes me happy enough because I had prepared for it. However, we got so busy with a lot of papers and I totally forgot uploading it until AFTER the cut-off. Bummer! Anyway, I thought I’d share it here anyway.

Talking about sweets, these jelly worms and other jelly candies cost only Php18.00 per 100 grams in Davao City. In Zamboanga, they cost a freakin’  Php 42.00!

This is it for now. Onto finding more stories! Have a nice day everyone!

I’ve been trying to check the winning entry sa DPS but my pc is not loading the site for some reason, I wanted to see it because I think your candy shot there has a real shot of winning, Geez, Look at the picture. It’s an awesome shot. I like the color.
Haaay, it frustrating to not be able to practice too. Niwey, How are you?: It’s been awhile, medyo naging busy at nawalan ako ng connection sa house. but i’m back

hello Marlon. I’ve wondered where you’ve been. Been going to your blog but I haven’t seen updates for so long.

Thanks for the compliment on the pic! The winning shot were of cookies floating on liquid chocolate (I think) with splattered milk in the middle. Obviously post processed but really creative. DPS awards for good creativity and concept and not for it’s quality or post processing.

Anyway, I’m glad you’re back!

very neat and sweet! nice shot! …. been wanting to play at DPS too but im a bit intimidated with the great shots of good photographers there … hope to see your entries there :)
